Luis Garces is a class of 2022 DMD Master of Arts alumnus with a focus on video game design. He has an interest in creating side-scrolling platformer games similar to the Super Mario, Donkey Kong, and Rayman franchises. During his undergraduate program, he took an elective course on app development which sparked an interest for game design. This led to his pursual of a Master of Arts in Digital Media & Design degree. Luis can speak conversational Spanish and his hobbies include playing video games, watching Youtube, and listening to a variety of music such as pop, latin, and alternative rock.
Industry Experience: Luis worked for Collins Aerospace as a manufacturing engineer during his junior year. He recently made a mobile game app for a BME app development course that was a tap to avoid the enemy game. During the summer Luis pursued an online class offered by Unity which allowed me to learn more video game design through various prototypes.
Fun Fact: My father has the same name as me, although I am not technically a junior. My first name Luis means “warrior” and my last name Garces originates from Spain.
