Area of Research / Artistic Focus: Documentary-Style Filmmaking
While pursuing the M.A. degree, Kate Campolieta iocused on Digital Film/Video Production. She has a particular interest in sports media, such as ESPN 30-for-30 documentaries. She also greatly enjoys producing videos about travel, history, and personal stories. Halfway through college, she backpacked through Europe following a semester abroad in London. While in the UK, she interned at Hampton Court Palace (former home of Henry VIII), where she contributed as a research intern for the museum. Her background in the arts is very diverse; in addition to film, she is proficient on several musical instruments and is a singer/songwriter. She likes listening to indie music, but was trained as a classical vocalist in middle and high school.
Industry Experience: Kate has had multiple internships with local broadcast television/video production organizations. She worked for Pittsburgh Community Television (PCTV21) during her junior year of college, where she conceptualized, produced, and cut video segments for the channel. She also worked for the Town of Simsbury during summer 2020, creating a video variety show to raise spirits during the pandemic.
Fun Fact: Kate is a huge Pittsburgh Penguins fan and played hockey growing up.
