Maria Farhadi is a second-year M.F.A. candidate at the University of Connecticut in the Digital Media and Design program, where she is focusing on web / interactive media design.  

Maria Farhadi started her journey in animation five years ago, and then she continued her path to graphic design for her bachelor’s degree. She found her passion there and currently, she has the opportunity to combine and use all these skills in her designs. Now years later, she wants to follow up that dream to have an impact in web design. She spent several years as an instructor at the Al-Zahra art university and as a freelance Visual Designer and Multimedia Specialist for different companies.  

Maria is a highly motivated, creative, and hardworking person who is eager to focus on modern human issues, conduct creative research, and challenge herself to make significant contributions to the arts. She has done several types of projects including web design, creating motion graphics and video clips, visual media content design, corporate identity design, packaging design, illustration, and more. 

She currently works as a Graduate Research Assistant in UConn’s Human Rights Institute, and she oversees creating media visual content design. 

Recent Achievements:

  • Exhibited in the 28th Iranian Youth Visual Arts Festival (juried competition)
  • Exhibited in the Emblem Logo Design Exhibition at Kalhor Gallery, Rasht, Iran
  • Exhibited in Virtual Illustration Design Exhibition, Alzahra University, Tehran (juried)
  • Nominated for Best Black & White Award in 7th Khayyam International Photography Exhibition
  • Published “The Role of Industrial Printing in the Packaging World” book, Student Articles Collections, 2021, Teen Publications, Tehran, Iran
