Artist Statement

HeLoHe aims to bridge the communication gap faced by women with Fibromyalgia, a group uniquely challenged in conveying their experiences, needs, and symptoms to their partners, leading to increased relationship conflicts. Recognizing the unmet need for effective communication tools, the project started with comprehensive user research, including interviews and surveys with Fibromyalgia patients and their supporters. This research illuminated the complexities of their daily struggles and the critical need for a platform that facilitates understanding and empathy.

HeLoHe is designed to educate both Fibromyalgia patients and their spouses by providing targeted educational content that promotes empathy, develops effective communication methods, and ultimately improves the quality of relationships. By directly addressing these communication obstacles, HeLoHe not only hopes to relieve patients’ emotional burdens, but also to empower supporters to provide genuine support. This dual approach is key to HeLoHe’s objective, which is to provide a comprehensive solution for enhancing the lives of those affected by Fibromyalgia.
