Full Application Process

The Digital Media & Design Department has compiled a full set of documentation to prepare you for application. Please review the DMD Full Application Process. Housing is now available at both Storrs and Stamford, be sure to apply and upload portfolio materials to the correct campus.

The Cave

In addition to the one-minute video, applicants are asked to complete a 250-word story titled “The Cave.” Your story should be accompanied by a simple image of a cave which you’ve obtained from the internet. In your written piece, tell us about the cave, where it’s located, where it leads, or who/what lives in the cave. What about this cave is special to you? We consider this creative assignment to be part of your portfolio and an important part of the application process.”

Storrs Campus Application Process

All DMD applicants must meet the minimum University requirements for admissions. The University Admissions website opens for student applications on August 1, 2018. UConn accepts the Common Application.

  • January 15, 2019: application process closes for Storrs
  • March 1, 2019: acceptance letters for the Storrs campus are isssued
  • May 1, 2019: tuition fee deposit must be received

Stamford Campus Application Process

All DMD applicants must meet the minimum University requirements for admissions. The University Admissions website opens for student applications on August 1, 2018. UConn accepts the Common Application.

  • July 1, 2019: application process closes for Stamford
    *Stamford Applicants: Students interested in living in UConn’s new residential facility on the Stamford campus are advised to complete the admissions application no later than March 15 in order to receive a decision and apply for housing before the April 1 Stamford housing deadline.
  • Two weeks following the receipt of the acceptance letter: tuition fee deposit must be received
